Matthew Pajunen

Matthew is a senior at Metro State, graduating at the end of the Summer 2009 with a degree in social science, specializing in anthropology. He is interested in bicyling, short fiction, and spends far too much time reading wikipedia. Concerned about social justice and environmental issues, EJAM's environmental justice agenda appealed to Matthew, who made EJAM his first internship choice.

Jason Rodney

Jason is a community organizer, hip-hopper, cook and aspiring mystic.  During his work with EJAM he has helped strengthen the network of urban agriculture on the Northside of Minneapolis, and is active in the Green Jobs Working Group and HIRE Minnesota.  At Macalester College, class of 2010, he studies environmental justice with a focus on histories of race, class and gender in the U.S.  Jason, along with other young folks, has organized Cooperative Energy Futures, a for-profit cooperative that helps communities organize around home energy efficiency, the Summer of Solutions, a youth-run summer community organizing program, and the Experimental College of the Twin Cities, a community-based free school where anyone can teach or take a class.  A deepening interest for Jason is integrating spirituality and small-group dialogues about race and identity into his work on environmental justice.
