Community Engagement
Fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility for each other and the land is essential to improving the health and quality of life in our communities. As part of the Sustainable Economic Initiative, EJAM will pilot a community organizing model that builds its base community and provides opportunities for that base to prioritize and create solutions to the challenges they face. This base building is also a central focus of EJAM’s strategy for organizational sustainability.
As part of this base building, EJAM will assess and refine as needed its membership model to ensure that it aligns with our core values and promotes the vision and mission of the organization.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with groups and individuals we will formulate a Sustainable Economic Initiative plan that defines a vision and action for sustainable community. Localized sustainable economic initiatives that emerge will define the roles of EJAM and the community in moving initiatives forward. Opportunities for leadership and skill development of community members will be a core component of the Sustainable Economic Initiative.
